ABOUT US
What makes us different?
As you walk through the door, take a moment to stop and take a breath and feel the magic of our learning environment as it captures you to join us on a journey of discovery and wonder and see what makes us different…
The Child is at the Heart
Inclusiveness is important to us where we dedicate time and space to know our tamariki and whānau through authentic and heart centred relationships. Teachers work in partnership with whānau to ensure they are able to meet the individual needs and aspirations of each child and their family. We nurture strong connections with our children’s whakapapa, cultural identity and family values which are woven into all aspects of centre life.
Our Team
We pride ourselves on our long standing passionate teaching team of highly experienced and qualified teachers. The roots of The Treasure Cove are deeply embedded within our harmonious team.
Our Environment
A home away from home where children and their whānau feel a strong sense of belonging. Our environment design promotes and inspires respect, trust and curiosity. The beautiful natural outdoor environments provide endless opportunities for exploration, discovery and challenge.
Nourishing Little Tummies
We have a nutritious menu cooked in house by our centre chef, including a specialised menu for our infants and catering to your child’s dietary requirements.
Our Nursery Space
A specialised nursery environment dedicated to providing a calm, engaging and peaceful home away from home for our infants. A space where each child’s rhythm and routine are catered for in a nurturing and loving way.
“Home is more than furniture, bricks and mortar. It’s pieced together with all the members that reside in it. It’s where you know you are loved, where you are heard, where you are seen and where you are valued… handmade and heartmade.”
The Heart School
Connections
Our relationships are the foundation of all we do and are anchored by love, care and kindness. Kaiako share in authentic and trusting relationships with tamariki and their whānau. Connection and collaboration around what matters most to the child and their learning journey are the essential ingredients. We truly believe that whānau, extended whānau and the local community are an integral and valued part of our learning community.
Freedom of Play
We passionately believe that children deserve time and space to freely explore and discover their learning potential through play. Children explore the wonder of their imagination, through authentic experiences, partnered by the possibilities of loose parts and natures gifts. We believe that children deserve opportunities to immerse themselves with mother earth/papatūānuku and all it has to offer. Teachers work in partnership with families to plan with intention for each child’s individual learning pathway, where what matters most for each child is key.
